Hours: 28 hours per week

Contract: Two years fixed-term contract

Location: Remote working, with office space in Hackney, London available – occasional meetings there and travel around London required

Salary: £30,940 to £32,760 gross per annum, pro rata to part time

We are seeking an Organisational Development Manager to join our small team to work with our 11 community-based member organisations. You will support and work with our members to develop their strategic and operational plans to enable them to serve their communities now and into the future.

This is a new and exciting role, and we are keen to hear from a breadth of candidates as this may be the right opportunity for an individual with lots of experience or someone with some experience but keen to develop their skills further and we are prepared to support and fund additional learning for the someone with the right passion, values and behaviours.

Overview of the role

In this role you will manage the design and delivery of organisational development strategies for our member organisations,  spearheading their fundraising programmes and grant applications as well as providing additional information, advice and guidance e.g. Charitable registrations and compliance.

The Organisational Development Manager will also help to increase Kanlungan’s membership,  and organisational performance improvement including service delivery and income generation/sustainability.

This role forms part of the Management Team and contributes to the overall management of its staff and work.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-creating  sustainable and impactful development projects and activities for member-organisations incl. business planning, charity registration, governance and policy development
  • Supporting member-organisations to implement new plans and projects
  • leading  the development of income sources such as  social enterprise, fundraising through grants/, tenders, and donations;
  • Keeping up with the latest developments through external research into good practice to support  idea generation for Kanlungan and its member-organisations;
  • Relationship building with stakeholders (all levels) and promoting Kanlungan and its member-organisations
  • Delivering in-house events (e.g. workshops, away days)
  • As a small team, a flexible attitude is needed from a team member as there are sometimes duties that may pop up that are not included on this list.

Person Specification

  • Passionate about voluntary and not for profit organisations that make a difference
  • Able to communicate clearly and engagingly in person and in writing, and able to adapt your style to meet different needs
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to come up with creative solutions to issues
  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Flexible, curious and with a strong sense of initiative
  • Confident working online, including video-calling, using Microsoft Office and/or Google products effectively
  • Desirable: able to speak and/or understand  Filipino and/or other East and Southeast Asian languages.
  • Desirable: have experiences in BAME or migrant grassroots organisations
  • Desirable: experience on charitable registration of organisations in the UK, charity law and compliance.
